Privacy Policy

Updated 8/5/24
Summary
We encourage you to read the full privacy policy, but here are the important bits most people ask about:

Unlike other solutions, we don't sell any of your data. The only reason we require access to your inbox & emails is so we can flag senders as mailing lists, and so we can unsubscribe and delete for you. That's it.

You can delete your account whenever you'd like and we'll scrub your information from our system. We don't get any value from it, and we only store information that improves the product for you (like being able to see how many emails you've unsubscribed from or deleted).

We passed an extensive Google security audit to ensure we comply with all standards.

This policy describes the ways we collect, store, use and protect your personal information. You accepted this policy when you signed up for our Service. We may amend this policy at any time by posting a revised version on our website. The revised version will be effective at the time we post it. Should a revision prove unacceptable to you, please contact us at support@inboxzapper.com

Our Commitment To Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. It represents our good-faith efforts to ensure your privacy and provide you with a great service.

The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Inbox Zapper web site. The types of personal information collected includes but is not limited to the email address used to log into the web app.

We request access to your inbox to be able to apply labels, and move emails to trash for unsubscribes. We may also analyze patterns to identify newsletters. This lets us create filters for auto-categorization, while your info and profile allows us to authentic users and personalize the experience. We prioritize privacy by accessing only relevant emails, not storing full content, giving users control, and following strict data protection. Our focus is on analysis and organization, improving users' email experience while maintaining data security.

Your email content, metadata, and the authorization credentials used to retrieve this information are accessed only with your permission and is not shared with any third party.  This information is permanently deleted upon the deletion of your account, which you may do any time by contacting us.  Our computer systems never collect, handle or store this information for any reason.

Data Minimization

Inbox Zapper collects only the necessary data required for its functionality and retains it only for as long as needed for the service.

Data Security Measures

Inbox Zapper encrypts sensitive data during transmission and storage using industry-standard protocols. Dada is encrypted in flight with SSL certificates and encrypted at rest with maximum security in mind. Access to this data is strictly controlled and limited to authorized personnel only, and we never share this data with third parties. We regularly train employees on data protection best practices and security protocols, and have a clear plan for responding to data breaches, including notification and mitigation strategies.

User Consent and Transparency

Users will be clearly informed about data collection purposes and must provide explicit consent before any data is collected. We provide transparency in how data is used and the rights users have over their data.

The Way We Use Information

We use your email address to communicate with you and to authenticate with 3rd party products integrated with our system (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook). We will never sell or rent your email address or ANY personally identifiable or even aggregated information to another company.

The content, and metadata of email messages is used only to allow users to process (delete/move/archive/unsubscribe from) emails using the Inbox Zapper web app.

We may use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and web extension.

All personally identifiable information gathered can be disclosed to judicial or other government agencies subject to warrants, subpoenas or other governmental orders. But absent a legal compulsion, we will not divulge your information.

Finally, we do not use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us in ways unrelated to the ones described above.

Additional Limits on Use of Your Google User Data

Notwithstanding anything else in this Privacy Policy, if you provide Inbox Zapper access to your Google data, Inbox Zapper's use of that data will be subject to these additional restrictions:

  • Inbox Zapper will only use access to read or control Gmail message metadata (including information about attachments), headers and message content to provide a web app that allows users to process (delete/move/archive/unsubscribe from) emails and will not transfer this Gmail data to others unless doing so is necessary to comply with applicable law.
  • Inbox Zapper will not use this Gmail data for serving advertisements.
  • Inbox Zapper will not allow humans to read this data unless we have your affirmative agreement for specific messages, doing so is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, or to comply with applicable law.
  • Inbox Zapper’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
